Armed Felon Arrested During Traffic Stop in Orlando
Orlando, FL – On Thursday, May 30, 2024, at around 6:45 p.m., officers from the Neighborhood Patrol Unit (NPU) conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Semoran Boulevard and Curry Ford Road for several observed traffic violations. During the stop, officers noticed a loaded Polymer 80 handgun in plain view between the driver’s legs.
The driver, identified as Joseph Robert Jr., refused to cooperate initially but was safely apprehended by the officers. Robert Jr. was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Orange County for unlawful concealed carry of a firearm and was charged accordingly.
Additionally, officers discovered approximately 5 grams of illegal drugs inside the vehicle.
The swift and effective actions of the NPU officers led to the safe arrest of an armed felon and the removal of illegal drugs from the streets. The Orlando Police Department commends the NPU officers for their diligence and commitment to public safety.
