TAMPA, Fla. – FHP Arrests 10 in Tampa Street Takeover; Vehicles and Firearms Seized. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers, in collaboration with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), arrested ten individuals during a coordinated street takeover event in Tampa last night. The event, organized via social media, drew hundreds of spectators and vehicles participating in illegal street racing, donuts, and other reckless driving activities that endangered the local community.
According to FHP, participants blocked off an intersection to perform stunts, prompting a swift law enforcement response. The operation resulted in ten arrests, multiple criminal charges, and the seizure of vehicles, firearms, and cash.
FHP released the following details:
Four arrests for unlawful racing on a highway
Six arrests for passenger participation in the takeover
Three drug-related charges
Three firearms recovered
Four vehicles impounded
Over $6,000 in assets seized

Ethan Marton, 20, Holiday

Marquis Pinkins, 29, Haines City

The arrested individuals were transported to the Orient Road Jail, with juveniles being sent to the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center.
Authorities emphasized that street racing and roadway takeovers are not only illegal but pose significant risks to public safety. These events disrupt traffic, endanger bystanders, and can delay emergency responders. Participants can face a wide range of charges, from spectating and passenger involvement to unlawful racing and reckless driving.
