KISSIMMEE, FL. — A large brush fire erupted on Orange Blossom Trail (OBT) and Woodland Creek Blvd. in Kissimmee, causing evacuations and widespread concern among local residents on Friday evening. The blaze, which started around 5 p.m., quickly spread, prompting a swift response from multiple fire departments.

Thick smoke billowed above the area as fire crews from Kissimmee, Osceola County Fire Rescue, and Orange County Fire Rescue worked tirelessly to control the flames. According to officials, no injuries have been reported, though the fire threatened several homes and led to the loss of multiple fences.

iSkyNews reporters on the scene witnessed residents in distress as they evacuated their homes. Many were particularly concerned about the safety of their pets. One couple was seen hurriedly placing their two cats into crates, while another resident moved several bird cages to safety.

The fire was contained by 8 p.m., and no homes were damaged. However, the intensity of the heat and the thick smoke created challenging conditions for the firefighters, who initially tackled the flames from a ladder truck before moving into the adjacent neighborhood to prevent further spread.
