HAINES CITY, FL – A significant structure fire at a Haines City residence was rapidly brought under control yesterday by the Haines City Fire Department, assisted by Polk County Fire Rescue. The emergency response teams were called to a two-story house at 2312 Lakeview Drive after a fire broke out around 5:58 PM.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the home engulfed in heavy smoke and flames, exacerbated by a nearby downed power line that was arcing dangerously close to the structure. The immediate area was secured in coordination with the power company to mitigate additional hazards.

Using a combination of interior and exterior attacks, the fire crews focused their efforts on the house’s electrical meter area, where the blaze is believed to have started. Remarkably, the fire was under control within just ten minutes of the firefighters' arrival, though the teams stayed on site until 8:34 PM to ensure all potential hotspots were thoroughly managed.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported among civilians or firefighting personnel. The property owner, who resides out of state and uses the Lakeview Drive house sporadically, was on-site post-incident to survey the damage and aid in the ongoing investigation.

Authorities are attributing the cause of the fire to an electrical issue near the home’s exterior wall. The Haines City Fire Department praised the swift and effective actions of the responding teams, emphasizing that their coordinated effort was crucial in preventing the fire from spreading further and ensuring no loss of life or serious injury.
