Poinciana, FL – A somber and heartfelt gathering took place this evening at the intersection of KOA Street and Stepping Stone Boulevard, where a large crowd, including numerous motorcyclists, came together to remember a 24-year-old motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run accident just two days prior. The event, covered by iSkyNews, saw hundreds of community members paying their respects.

As the sun set, the corner was illuminated not just by streetlights but by countless candles and balloons, adding a touch of solemn beauty to the sad scene. The air was filled with a mix of grief and sadness as friends, family, and supporters shared memories of the young man, whose life was cut short so abruptly.

This tragic event unfolded on Wednesday around 7:36 PM EST when the victim, riding westbound on a 2005 Honda motorcycle along KOA Street, was struck by an unidentified vehicle. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle, believed to be a mystic green metallic 2008 to 2010 Honda Accord, ran a stop sign at Monterey Road, colliding with the motorcycle. This collision thrust the motorcyclist into the path of an eastbound 2015 Ford Explorer. The impact was fatal for the motorcyclist, who died at the scene despite wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 54-year-old woman from Kissimmee, was unharmed and cooperated with law enforcement at the scene. Authorities are still searching for the driver of the Honda Accord, who fled after the accident. Pieces of the suspect vehicle have been recovered, and detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring closure to the devastated family.

Local residents have long expressed concerns about the safety of the intersection, describing it as "very dark and dangerous" and advocating for the installation of a traffic light.

As the community continues to reel from this loss, iSkyNews and the residents of Poinciana extend their deepest condolences and continued thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the young man lost. The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
