Speed and Lane Changes Lead to Fatal Motorcycle Crash on SR 408 in Orange County


Orange County, FL – A tragic accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist on June 14, 2024, at approximately 12:59 PM on State Road 408 Eastbound at Mile Marker 23, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).


The incident involved a 2019 motorcycle driven by a 27-year-old male from Orlando, FL. Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was traveling above the posted speed limit and was rapidly changing lanes while heading eastbound on State Road 408, approaching State Road 50.


As the motorcyclist attempted to negotiate a curve, he lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle veered off the roadway to the right and collided with the outside shoulder guardrail. The impact was severe, and the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.


The next of kin has not yet been notified, and the crash remains under investigation by the FHP.
