Man Arrested for Random Stabbing in Palm Coast

Palm Coast, FL – A shocking act of violence disturbed the peace in Palm Coast’s B section, when a man was randomly attacked by a stranger. Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies swiftly responded to the scene of the crime, leading to the arrest of 56-year-old Eric Galdabini.

The incident unfolded when the suspect, described as a white male with curly hair, reportedly assaulted a man with a knife and then fled in a black Jeep. Alert deputies located a vehicle matching this description at the intersection of Belle Terre and Pine Lakes Parkways, arresting the driver who was identified as Galdabini, a Palm Coast resident.

The investigation revealed a harrowing sequence of events. Galdabini, while driving on Barrister Lane, had repeatedly approached a female walking with a male, insisting she get into his car. After being rebuffed multiple times, Galdabini escalated the situation. He parked his vehicle, confronted the pair with aggression, and eventually pulled out a knife. The ensuing altercation led to the victim being slashed several times. Fortunately, the injuries were non-life-threatening, and Flagler County Fire Rescue provided on-scene treatment.

Galdabini’s arrest was bolstered by surveillance footage corroborating the victim’s account. Despite giving conflicting statements, Galdabini admitted the knife was in his vehicle and consented to its retrieval. He was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and is currently held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $40,000 bond. His criminal history includes a prior Battery conviction in Volusia County in 2010.

Sheriff Rick Staly commented on the rarity of such random attacks, expressing relief that the victim did not sustain serious injuries and commending deputies for their prompt response. He wryly noted that Galdabini is “back where he belongs, in the Green Roof Inn,” referring to the detention facility.
