Polk County Sheriff's Office Investigating Car Burglary and Wallet Theft at Lakeland Circle K

Lakeland, FL – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle burglary that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Circle K store located at 2109 Memorial Blvd W in Lakeland. During the incident, an unknown suspect stole a wallet from a parked car, taking several debit cards and immediately attempting fraudulent transactions.
The victim had been sleeping inside his vehicle overnight in the Circle K parking lot when the theft occurred. Sometime between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., the suspect removed the wallet from the car. The stolen debit cards were then used in an attempt to make unauthorized purchases at the store.
When the victim woke up later in the morning, he found multiple alerts from his financial institutions warning him about the attempted fraudulent charges and withdrawals.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office Detective Hipple is leading the investigation. Authorities are working to identify the suspect and are asking for the public’s help.
