Lehigh Acres, FL – In a remarkable display of efficient law enforcement, deputies from the Lee County Sheriff's Office have apprehended a man following a harrowing attempted kidnapping incident at a Walmart in Lehigh Acres. The suspect, identified as Pablo Pintueles Hernandez, allegedly tried to abduct a 4-year-old child from his family.

The incident, which occurred on December 29th, was promptly responded to by deputies. Upon reviewing the store's surveillance footage, it was confirmed that Hernandez approached the child, who was shopping with his family, grabbed the child's wrist, and attempted to lead him away. A quick intervention by a family member thwarted the attempt, allowing the child to be safely pulled back.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno lauded the teamwork and use of advanced technology in the rapid resolution of this case. "Utilizing the latest and greatest technology is key to solving crimes quickly and efficiently," Sheriff Marceno stated. He praised the collaboration between the Communications, Patrol, Real Time Intelligence Center, and Major Crimes Unit, highlighting their unmatched dedication to public safety.

In a coordinated effort, deputies and Real Time Intelligence Center analysts worked tirelessly to identify and locate Hernandez. Within an hour of the incident, law enforcement officials were at Hernandez's residence, confirming his identity.

The Major Crimes Unit detectives took over the investigation upon their arrival at the scene. Their investigation revealed that Hernandez did indeed grab and restrain the child while instructing him to leave with him. This led to the establishment of probable cause to arrest Hernandez for False Imprisonment of a Child 13 Years Old and Under.

Sheriff Marceno expressed his disturbance over the nature of the crime. "What this criminal did is incredibly disturbing," he said. "I never want anyone in Lee County to feel unsafe, especially during a simple shopping trip. My team will stop at nothing to ensure criminals like this face the consequences of their actions."
