Teen Seriously Injured in Winter Haven Crash


Winter Haven, FL - A serious crash in Winter Haven on June 19, 2024, left a 16-year-old girl with significant injuries. The accident occurred at approximately 12:39 PM when a Toyota RAV4, driven by a 60-year-old Winter Haven woman, was traveling eastbound on Avenue B Southeast, approaching 6th Street Southeast.


According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver became distracted by a loud, unknown noise, causing the vehicle to veer partially onto the adjacent sidewalk. The vehicle then struck a 16-year-old girl who was sitting on the curb.

The driver was unharmed in the incident, but the teen suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.


Authorities are currently investigating the source of the noise that led to the distraction and subsequent crash. No further details have been released at this time.
