Tragic Accident Claims Life of Motorcyclist in Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County, FL. - In a heartbreaking incident on the night of March 13, 2024, a collision on SR-39 north of Holloway Road in Hillsborough County resulted in the death of a 57-year-old Plant City man. The accident, which occurred at approximately 9:40 PM, involved a Volvo V70 and a Yamaha motorcycle, both traveling southbound along the roadway.

According to reports from Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was ahead of the Volvo when traffic abruptly came to a halt. While the motorcycle managed to stop in time, the Volvo, driven by a 51-year-old Plant City woman, tragically failed to do the same, crashing into the rear of the motorcycle with devastating force.

Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, where the motorcyclist was found to have sustained severe injuries from the collision. Despite being quickly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care, the victim later succumbed to the injuries incurred during the tragic event.
